Mai Dantsig. Opening
Personal exhibition of works by Mai Dantsig
"I am a painter, who searched in art for a path I hope now to have found. I am most usually seen as a realist painter although I have never been a social realist, as critics have rightly noticed. I don't understand what social realism is. Is there a capitalistic one? I feelstrongly connected to the art of the 1920s-1930s, both Russian and Western. I learned on the examples of fauvists, expressionists and been influenced by impressionists. I am eternally betrothed to art and married to painting. And, I think, that is the most important."
